Best Way to Use Coconut Oil for Acne

Unlike most, if not all, conventional products for treating acne, coconut oil does not limit to just topical application. You can in fact, eat coconut oil as well for acne treatment. This is the best way to use coconut oil for acne since you're treating acne from the outside as well as from the inside. And this could help heal acne more thoroughly. Let me explain.

Look, acne is not simply a skin-deep issue. Yup, the signs (pimples and whiteheads etc) are all shown on your skin, but that's actually due to some kind of disorder taking place inside your body. Fix the internal problem and your external symptoms will automatically disappear.

Putting commercial products on your skin only treat the symptoms, but the internal problem remains there. And acne could break out anytime again.

If you were to use coconut oil topically for acne treatment just like you're using those commercial products, same thing (resurgence of acne) could happen. That's why topical application of coconut oil is not the best way for treating acne.

By eating in addition to applying it to your skin for acne treatment, coconut oil is able to get deeper into your body to help fix that internal disorder - excessive sebum production.

Production of excessive sebum (the natural skin oil your body produces to lubricate your skin and hair) can cause bacteria to overgrow and trigger more shedding of dead skin cells. This in turn, raises the chances for your skin pores to get clogged with soft plugs (formed by dead skin cells and sebum). When your pores get clogged, sebum can't flow out and so, pimples or whiteheads will pop up. That's the reason why an oily skin tends to be more acne-prone.

Because coconut oil contains powerful anti-toxin compounds, when you eat it for acne treatment, it relieves your liver of the detoxification load so that your liver can concentrate better on regulating androgens (in the bloodstream), which are the hormones that decide how much sebum to produce.
The oil's detoxifying effect also helps to keep your body's toxin level low so that you'll have less toxins getting stored under your skin which could cause severe breakout when you apply the oil to your skin and it draws toxins up to the surface of your skin.

As it is also highly antibacterial, the tropical oil can help to keep your bacterial count under control.
That's why the best way to use coconut oil for acne treatment is to both eat it and use it topically.
